Welcome to Fargo Mom!

Hey, you! Welcome!

I am so glad you are here. Like, really, really glad. So glad I wish I could buy you a (hot) cup of coffee and give you a hug. This website was created with you in mind, Fargo Moms (and Moorhead, West Fargo, and our surrounding communities!). This website was written BY local moms FOR YOU!

Our goal is to bring you content written by local moms right here in your own community, local resources to help your family grow and thrive, and local events to help you connect with other moms and families in your neighborhoods. We want to share perspectives and stories from all walks of motherhood, in hopes of discussing the topics that are important to you. We will continually produce new content, not only from our great local mom writers, but also guest writers from within our community and local businesses who are eager to share their expertise with you.

We know what it’s like to want to have easy-to-find resources and things to do around town (especially, as well all know, in the winter). We know what it’s like to scour the internet in hopes of finding anyone who feels the same way we do during those hard seasons of motherhood. And we know what it’s like to not have that “village” everyone talks about.

Fargo Mom hopes to be part of that village for you.

Motherhood is such a trip, and we believe that trip is better enjoyed with friends along for the ride. So no matter what stage of motherhood you find yourself in, no matter your background, and no matter what sort of parent you describe yourself as, we want you to join us on the trip.

We just ask that you bring the snacks, our kids have eaten all of ours (only kidding, unless you have some of that good chocolate you hide from everyone else).

Thanks for joining us, and we can’t wait to get this journey started!

Kathy Schommer is the Owner and Founder of Fargo Mom. She is a (nearly) lifelong North Dakotan, married to her college sweetheart, and has 3 rambunctious girls. Kathy is passionate about connecting moms, advocating for maternal mental health, and giving back to this wonderful community any way she can. She loves all things crafting, attempting to read books not related to parenting, and drinking hot coffee every chance she gets. When Kathy’s not attempting to work with her kids yelling in the background, you might find her at one of the local breweries or coffee bars in the area or attempting to find unique treasures at a local thrift store.
