Looking to get your child interested in reading? 

Taking your child to storytime can help foster a love of reading and learning. Also, it’s a  great opportunity for social interaction.

Here is a listing of ongoing storytimes in Fargo!

Storytimes in Fargo & Moorhead*

Fargo Public Library

Storytime sessions are offered during Fall & Spring.

Baby Rhyme Time is held at the Main Library on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m., and at the James Carlson Library on Thursdays at 10:00 a.m., twice a month. Baby Rhyme Time is for babies birth to 18 months. Children and caregivers will sing songs, explore short books, rhythms, and rhymes. Pre-registration is not required.

Children’s Storytime for toddlers and preschoolers is open for kids ages 2-6. It’s held at the Main Library on Mondays at 10:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., at the Northport Branch on Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m., and at the James Carlson Library on Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Pre-registration is not required.

West Fargo Public Library

Ready to Read Storytime is held Wednesdays from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. These sessions are for kids ages 3 – 5 and focus on language development, social skills, vocabulary, and creativity. In addition, children can gain early literacy skills through reading, talking, singing, writing, creating, and playing. And also creating an interest in independent learning and reading for kids.

Baby Boost Storytime is for children age 2 and younger. Each Friday from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m., these story times provide an opportunity for babies, toddlers, and their caregivers to interact together. In addition, helping foster emotional connections as they develop language and social skills. And creating positive connections with literacy, learning, and reading.

Moorhead Public Library

Storytime in Moorhead features songs, poems, and a different theme each week. Children of all ages are welcome at these in-person events. And story time takes place Tuesdays from 6:30 – 7:00 p.m., Thursdays from 10:30 – 11:00 a.m., and second Saturdays at 11:00 a.m.. Check their Events Calendar for more details.
