Fall & Halloween Events in Fargo | 2021

The air is crisp and the leaves are beginning to change color. It’s finally fall in our area and here are some fun fall and Halloween events in Fargo (and beyond) to check out!

Sheywest Apple Smash

Days: September 17th 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.; September 18th 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; September 19th 12:00 – 5:00 p.m.

Location: Sheywest, 225 40th Ave West, West Fargo

Apple smash, Apple Cider, Apple donuts, live music, Red River Zoomobile, and so much more!

Fall in Fargo

Days: Two weekends; September 18 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., September 19 12:00 – 5:00 p.m.; September 25 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., & September 26 12:00-5:00 p.m.

Location: Rheault Farm, 2902 25th St S, Fargo

Bring the whole family to this event! Free fun includes a straw bale maze and carnival games. Then horse-drawn carriage rides, barrel rides, face painting, and a Fall art project are available with an activity pass.

Farm in the Dell Fall Festival

Days: September 25-26, 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Location: Farm in the Dell, 7426 40th St N, Moorhead

Have some fun at the Farm! They’ll have games, concessions, smoked pork loin, barrel train rides, bake sale, and pumpkins for a fun family outing!

Lost in the Valley Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch

Days: Pumpkin Patch is open October 1 – October 31, Friday through Sundays; Friday 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Saturday & Sunday 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Corn Maze is open September 17 – October 31, Thursday & Friday 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.; Saturday & Sundays 11:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Location: Red River Valley Fairgrounds

Find the perfect pumpkin in West Fargo! Enjoy a hayride to the pumpkin patch and back and then find your way around the corn maze.

Haunted Farm

Days: Fridays & Saturdays from September 17 – October 31, open from 7:00 – 11:00 p.m.

Location: 1947 130th Ave S, Moorhead

Fifteen haunted attractions make up the Haunted Farm including a haunted house, maze, and a scary walk through the woods. This attraction is more appropriate for older kids. Please see their Facebook page for more information.

Bonanzaville Ghost & Paranormal Tours

Days: September 24 & 25, October 15, 22, 29 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. & 9:00 – 10:30 p.m.

Location: Bonanzaville, 1351 Main Ave W, West Fargo

Days: October 2 12:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Location: Downtown Fargo, between NP Ave & 2nd Ave on Broadway

A free family-friendly event that offers Oktoberfest beers and fun activities for kids and adults alike. Including a brat-eating contest, crafts, and a petting zoo.

Fall Tap Fest

Days: Saturdays in October from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m.

Location: West Acres Mall, 3902 13th Ave S

West Acres’ Fall Tap Fest is BACK and bigger than ever! Join them every Saturday from 1:00-5:00pm, in Aquarium Court (in front of Best Buy) for an array of local breweries, wineries and cideries + live performances from some of your local favorites!

Apple Harvest Festival 

Days: October 3 11:00 a.m. on

Location: Wild Terra Cider, 6 12th St N, Fargo

Featuring Harvest games, petting zoo, Fall goods and craft presenters, live music, and 2 bars serving cider, beer, and wine.

Fall Festival

Days: October 3rd, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.

Location: Baker Garden & Gift, 2733 University Dr. S, Fargo

You’re invited to this FREE fall event! There will be fun activities for gardeners, kids & parents, including: Fall Clean-up/Winterizing seminar (2:00), Mini pumpkin painting (please RSVP for each child), Scarecrow photo booth, Warm apple cider made with Aspen Mulling Spices, & more!

Fall Harvest

Days: October 9 8:45 – 10:15 a.m. & 10:45 – 12:15 a.m.

Location: Vista Center for Education, 2777 34th St S, Moorhead

Explore the world of harvesting at this Fall event. For children 6 and younger and a fee includes materials.

Boo at the Zoo

Days: October 16, 23, 30, 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Location: Red River Zoo, 4255 23rd Ave S, Fargo

This annual event at the Red River Zoo is always a good time! Put on your best Halloween mask and get your tickets ahead of time to save money and make entry quick and easy. For event details and ticket information, please see their ticketing website

Location: Vista Center for Education, 2777 34th St S, Moorhead

Join the fun of exploring pumpkins and all the gooey messiness inside them! For children 6 and younger and a fee includes materials.

Spiderweb Taco Dip: Kids Healthy Cooking Class

Days: October 17 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.

Location: Family Wellness, 2960 Seter Pkwy, Fargo

Make a Halloween-themed Mexican 7-layer dip at Family Wellness. Cost is $12 for Family Wellness and $20 for non-members.

Fargo Public Library Pumpkin Decorating

Days: October 20 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Carlson Branch & October 21 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Main Library

Location: Dr. James Carlson Library, 2801 32nd Ave S, Fargo & Main Library, 102 3rd St N, Fargo

Bring your own pumpkin to decorate and the Fargo Public Library will provide all the supplies to make a scary or nice pumpkin. This event is best for ages 3 and up and pre-registration is required. Moorhead Parks & Recreation’s Pumpkin Party Pick-Up!

Days: October 21 3:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Location: Memorial Park, 111 8th St N, Moorhead

Kids ages 13 and younger can stop by Memorial Park to pick a pumpkin and paint to decorate it. Supplies are limited and are available on a first come-first serve basis. They are also holding a photo contest featuring the decorated pumpkins and with prizes awarded.

Spooky Science

Days: October 22 at 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. & 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Location: Main Library, 102 3rd St N, Fargo

Get ready for some spooky fun with interesting science experiments! This event is hosted by a Concordia College professor and all materials will be provided. Pumpkin Painting Party: Fargo Air Museum

Days: October 24 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (while supplies last)

Location: Fargo Air Museum, 1609 19th Ave N, Fargo

Celebrate Halloween by painting pumpkins at the Fargo Air Museum. Tickets are sold at the door and cost is $5 per child, Fargo Air Museum members are free. And costumes are welcome!

Libraries Dance: Spooky Ballet

Days: October 26 at 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Location: Main Library, 102 3rd St N, Fargo

The Main Library is hosting this ballet-themed story time followed by a short ballet session. This is a collaboration with Gaspers School of Dance and the F-M Ballet. Spooktacular at Atonement Lutheran

Days: October 27 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Location: Atonement Lutheran, 4601 S University Dr, Fargo

Come check out the food, games, trunk or treat, bounce houses, rock wall, and bonfire at this annual event!

Not-So-Spooky Playdate at FBA

Days: October 28 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Location: Fargo Basketball Academy (FBA), 5409 53rd Ave S, Fargo

Kids can wear their costumes for open gym time with bounce houses, scooters, and sports equipment (including a mini hoop!). No pre-registration is required for this fun, active morning and the cost is $6 per child at the door.

Spooky Slab

Days: October 28th 6:00 – 9:30 p.m.

Location: Nature of the North, 814 Center Ave Suite 3, Moorhead

All ages and all skill levels welcome to this friendly climbing competition at Nature of the North! COSTUMES ENCOURAGED! Prizes will be awarded to the top costume. Cornhole and other outdoor games will be set up as well. 

Monster Mash Trunk or Treat

Days: October 28 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Location: Moorhead Center Mall Parking Ramp, 500 Center Mall Ave, Moorhead

Spend the evening trick-or-treating in Moorhead! Kids crafts and games will be offered at this family-friendly event.

Spooktacular Night

Days: October 28 5:00 – 7:30 p.m.

Location: Family Wellness, 2960 Seter Pkwy, Fargo

Enjoy a night of Halloween fun at Family Wellness! Featuring Halloween-themed games, prizes, and a healthy festive snack. Great for all ages. Free for members.

Spooky School Bus Ride

Days: October 29 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Location: Fercho YMCA, 400 1st Ave S, Fargo

Wear a costume and join the fun on this spooky bus filled with characters from the Wizard of Oz. Each bus ride lasts about 20 minutes and there will be Halloween fun and games in the Fercho gym also.

Trunk & Treat Dilworth Police Department

Days: October 29 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Location: Dilworth Police Department, 500 Center Avenue W, Dilworth

Join the Dilworth and Glyndon Police Departments celebrate Halloween at the Dilworth Police Department. Plenty of candy and games will be at this free event. Dress warm this event is outside. For more information see their Facebook event page

Trunk or Treat

Days: October 29 5:30 – 7:00 p.m.

Location: Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 4000 28th St S, Moorhead

Featuring a meal, carnival games, trunk or treating, balloon animals, fun, and fellowship for all ages.

Trunk or Treat at Grace Lutheran

Days: Friday, October 29 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.

Location: Grace Lutheran Church, 821 5th Ave S, Fargo

Fargo – Moorhead Halloween Run

Days: October 29 race start time is 6:30 p.m. & October 30 8:00 a.m. on

Location: Fargo Civic Center, 207 N 4th St, Fargo

Celebrate Halloween and a love of running at the same time! There are several events to choose from. First, a Friday Night 5k. Wear a costume and watch out for the goblins, ghouls, and monsters who will be haunting the race trail. Then Saturday morning there is a 5k, 10k, or Half Marathon. Registration is required.

Bethel Church Trunk-a-Palooza

Days: Saturday, October 30 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Location: Bethel Church, 2702 30th Ave S, Fargo

Join in the trunk-or-treat/tailgating atmosphere in the Bethel Church parking lot. Wear non-scary costumes and enjoy family-friendly games, food, and treats.

ZooBoo 2021 (Chahinkapa Zoo) 

Days: Saturday, October 30 5:30 – 7:00 p.m.

Location: Chahinkapa Zoo, 1004 RJ Hughes Dr, Wahpeton

Venture to the Chahinkapa Zoo for trick-or-treating at a decorated zoo! Cost is $5 per person (children and adults). See their Facebook event page for details.

Halloween in Horace + GLOW Run

Days: October 29th, 6:00 p.m.

Location: Horace Community Center, 214 Thue Ct, Horace, ND

The City of Horace and Horace Dance Pros are teaming up to bring you a haunted Halloween in Horace! They’ll have a costume party/contest for the kids, carnival games, music for dancing, treats, and more. There will also be a costume 1-mile GLOW RUN with some pretty awesome prizes for families, kids, and couples. 

Witching Hour Halloween Costume Party

Days: Saturday, October 30 8:00 – 10:30 p.m.

Location: Skate City, 3302 Interstate Blvd S, Fargo

Join us Saturday, October 30th for our 16+ Halloween Costume Party from 8pm-10:30pm! Admission is just $9 at the door. Wear your best costume! Skate Rentals still apply.

Family Halloween Costume Party

Days: Saturday, October 31 12:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Location: Skate City, 3302 Interstate Blvd S, Fargo

Skate City is hosting this event featuring a costume parade, coloring corner, treats, and games. Admission is $7 per person and skate rental is $3.

Customer Appreciation Halloween

Days: October 31 at 2:00 p.m.

Location: Tailor Made Barber Studio, 1617 32nd Ave S, Suite H, Fargo

Let Tailor Made Barbers help you look your Halloween best with face painting, Halloween-inspired nail art, and temporary hair color applications along with a fun photo area.

Square Scare!

Days: October 31 at 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Location: Broadway Square, 201 Broadway N, Fargo

Check out this family-friendly event in Downtown Fargo for an afternoon of fun and not-too-spooky activities! Including a costume parade, pumpkin painting, and community trick-or-treating.

Trunk or Treat at Bonanzaville

Days: October 31 at 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. 

Location: Bonanzaville, 1351 Main Ave W, West Fargo

Featuring hayrides, an old fashioned cake walk, old time festival games, and trunk or treating in West Fargo.

Family Halloween Costume Party

Day: Sunday, October 31st from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Location: Skate City, 3302 Interstate Blvd S, Fargo

They will be having a Costume Parade, Games and a Coloring Corner. Don’t forget about those door prizes!

Halloween Organ Spooktacular

Days: October 31 at 4:00 p.m.

Location: Messiah Lutheran Church, 2010 Elm St N, Fargo, ND

Featuring spooky favorites from Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D Minor and other fun, silly Halloween tunes. And be sure to come in costume!

Trunk or Treat First Baptist Church

Days: October 31st at 5:30 p.m.

Location: First Baptist Church, 1501 17th Ave S, Fargo

This family friendly event will be a great place to bring the kids and they’ll even have a few treats for the parents too! A suggested donation of a non-perishable item for the Emergency Food Pantry is encouraged, but not required to participate.

Dias De Los Muertos Educational Celebration

Days: November 2 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Location: Broadway Square, 201 Broadway N, Fargo

Celebrate this traditional Mexican holiday where people gather to remember, connect with, and honor the spirits of loved ones who have died. Featuring educational speakers, a film, activities and more for all ages to enjoy.

Turkey Trot

Days: November 20 12:45 – 1:30 p.m.

Location: Family Wellness, 2960 Seter Pkwy, Fargo

Get the family together for this year’s Turkey Trot! Free for members, all ages can join in walking, jogging, running on the Family Wellness indoor track. An optional turkey-themed craft will be available before and after the race to get everyone in the Thanksgiving spirit.
