The air is crisp and the leaves are beginning to change color. It’s finally fall in our area and here are some fun fall and Halloween events in Fargo (and beyond) to check out!

Sheywest Apple Smash

Days: September 17th, 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.; September 18th, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; September 19th, 12:00 – 5:00 p.m.

Location: Sheywest, 225 40th Ave West, West Fargo

Apple smash, Apple Cider, Apple donuts, live music, Red River Zoomobile, and so much more!

Fall in Fargo

Days: Two weekends; September 18th, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., September 19th, 12:00 – 5:00 p.m.; September 25th, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., & September 26th, 12:00-5:00 p.m.

Location: Rheault Farm, 2902 25th St S, Fargo

Bring the whole family to this event! Free fun includes a straw bale maze and carnival games. Then horse-drawn carriage rides, barrel rides, face painting, and a Fall art project are available with an activity pass.

Farm in the Dell Fall Festival

Days: September 25-26th, 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Location: Farm in the Dell, 7426 40th St N, Moorhead

Have some fun at the Farm! They’ll have games, concessions, smoked pork loin, barrel train rides, bake sale, and pumpkins for a fun family outing!

Lost in the Valley Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch

Days: Pumpkin Patch is open October 1st – October 31st, Friday through Sundays; Friday, 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Saturday & Sunday, 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Corn Maze is open September 17th – October 31st, Thursday & Friday, 5:00 – 9:00 p.m.; Saturday & Sundays, 11:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Location: Red River Valley Fairgrounds

Find the perfect pumpkin in West Fargo! Enjoy a hayride to the pumpkin patch and back and then find your way around the corn maze.

Haunted Farm

Days: Fridays & Saturdays from September 17th – October 31st, open from 7:00 – 11:00 p.m.

Location: 1947 130th Ave S, Moorhead

Fifteen haunted attractions make up the Haunted Farm including a haunted house, maze, and a scary walk through the woods. This attraction is more appropriate for older kids. Please see their Facebook page for more information.

Bonanzaville Ghost & Paranormal Tours

Days: September 24th & 25th, October 15th, 22nd, & 29th, 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. & 9:00 – 10:30 p.m.

Location: Bonanzaville, 1351 Main Ave W, West Fargo

Location: Downtown Fargo, between NP Ave & 2nd Ave on Broadway

A free family-friendly event that offers Oktoberfest beers and fun activities for kids and adults alike. Including a brat-eating contest, crafts, and a petting zoo.

Fall Tap Fest

Days: Saturdays in October from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m.

Location: West Acres Mall, 3902 13th Ave S

West Acres’ Fall Tap Fest is BACK and bigger than ever! Join them every Saturday from 1:00-5:00pm, in Aquarium Court (in front of Best Buy) for an array of local breweries, wineries and cideries + live performances from some of your local favorites!

Spooky Space

Days: October 2nd & 9th at 11:00 a.m. | October 3rd & 10th at 3:00 p.m.

Location: MSUM Planetarium, 1104 7th Ave S, Moorhead

This show for ages 6+ introduces you to popular Halloween characters and their spooky counterparts in space. Ghosts become nebulae and vampires become black holes in this fulldome show for the Halloween season. Tickets are $6 per adult, $3 per child.

Apple Harvest Festival 

Days: October 3rd at 11:00 a.m.

Location: Wild Terra Cider, 6 12th St N, Fargo

Featuring Harvest games, petting zoo, Fall goods and craft presenters, live music, and 2 bars serving cider, beer, and wine.

Fall Festival at Baker Garden

Days: October 3rd, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.

Location: Baker Garden & Gift, 2733 S University Dr, Fargo

Autumn Pumpkin Party

Days: October 3rd, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.

Location: Sheywest, 225 40th Ave West, West Fargo

Visit the Pumpkin Patch and select your favorite pumpkin and get a bag of individually packaged paints and a paint brush to take home. Plus even more FREE activities! Spin the prize wheel for kids, make a craft, pose in the autumn photo area, and enjoy the apple cider bar!

Fall Festival

Days: October 3rd, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.

Location: Baker Garden & Gift, 2733 University Dr. S, Fargo

You’re invited to this FREE fall event! There will be fun activities for gardeners, kids & parents, including: Fall Clean-up/Winterizing seminar (2:00), Mini pumpkin painting (please RSVP for each child), Scarecrow photo booth, Warm apple cider made with Aspen Mulling Spices, & more!

Fall Harvest

Boo at the Zoo

Days: October 16th, 23rd, & 30th, 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Spiderweb Taco Dip: Kids Healthy Cooking Class

Days: October 17th, 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.

Location: Family Wellness, 2960 Seter Pkwy, Fargo

Make a Halloween-themed Mexican 7-layer dip at Family Wellness. Cost is $12 for Family Wellness and $20 for non-members.

Spooky Fiesta at Bethlehem Lutheran Church

Days: October 17th, 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.

Location: Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 613 16th St S, Fargo

Join us for our annual Halloween Party. From 3-5 pm on October 17th outside Bethlehem. Will move inside based on weather. We will have pumpkin decorating, games, snacks, and lot’s of FUN!

F-M Symphony Family Matinee: A Costume Party with the Classics

Days: October 17th, 3:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Location: Fargo Theater, 314 Broadway North, Fargo

The Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra presents “A Costume Party with the Classics” – a family matinee for everyone! Get in the spirit of Halloween as you enjoy music from Superman, The Addams Family, Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, Beethoven, and more. Be sure to come dressed up in your favorite Halloween costume to be part of our Costume Parade! Tickets available at www.fmsymphony.org. 

Fargo Public Library Pumpkin Decorating

Days: October 20th, 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Carlson Branch & October 21st, 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Main Library

Location: Dr. James Carlson Library, 2801 32nd Ave S, Fargo & Main Library, 102 3rd St N, Fargo

Bring your own pumpkin to decorate and the Fargo Public Library will provide all the supplies to make a scary or nice pumpkin. This event is best for ages 3 and up and pre-registration is required. Moorhead Parks & Recreation’s Pumpkin Party Pick-Up!

Days: October 21st, 3:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Location: Memorial Park, 111 8th St N, Moorhead

Kids ages 13 and younger can stop by Memorial Park to pick a pumpkin and paint to decorate it. Supplies are limited and are available on a first come-first serve basis. They are also holding a photo contest featuring the decorated pumpkins and with prizes awarded.

Spooky Science

Days: October 22nd at 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. & 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Location: Main Library, 102 3rd St N, Fargo

Get ready for some spooky fun with interesting science experiments! This event is hosted by a Concordia College professor and all materials will be provided. 2nd Annual Spooktacular Kids Event

Days: October 23rd, 12:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Location: Primrose Boutique, 1115 9th St E, Suite A

Games, prizes, music, food, and more will be at this fun annual event!

Pumpkin Painting Party: Fargo Air Museum

Days: October 24th, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (while supplies last)

Location: Fargo Air Museum, 1609 19th Ave N, Fargo

Celebrate Halloween by painting pumpkins at the Fargo Air Museum. Tickets are sold at the door and cost is $5 per child, Fargo Air Museum members are free. And costumes are welcome!

Boo! at NDSU

Days: October 24th, 12:00 – 2:00 p.m.

Location: F Lot, south of the Sanford Health Athletic Complex (1300 17th Ave N)  

Join NDSU for this family-friendly Halloween-themed carnival and trunk-or-treat event. NDSU student organizations/groups will host booths where children can participate in games and other Halloween activities. 

Arc Halloween Party & Dance

Days: October 25th, 6:30 – 8:15 p.m.

Location: National Guard Armory, 1002 15th Ave South Moorhead

Come out for a Halloween party with games and activities provided by MSUM Student Council for Exceptional Children. Dance and costume contest follows at 7:00! Hotdogs and chips will be served until they are gone.

Trunk or Treat at Fargo V.A.

Days: October 26th, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Location: Fargo VA, 2101 Elm St N, Fargo

Located in the medical center’s north parking lot – OPEN TO THE PUBLIC! Trick or treat from car to car and load up on candy!

Libraries Dance: Spooky Ballet

Days: October 26th, 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Location: Main Library, 102 3rd St N, Fargo

The Main Library is hosting this ballet-themed story time followed by a short ballet session. This is a collaboration with Gaspers School of Dance and the F-M Ballet. Spooktacular at Atonement Lutheran

Days: October 27th, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Location: Atonement Lutheran, 4601 S University Dr, Fargo

Come check out the food, games, trunk or treat, bounce houses, rock wall, and bonfire at this annual event!

Not-So-Spooky Playdate at FBA

Days: October 28th, 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Location: Fargo Basketball Academy (FBA), 5409 53rd Ave S, Fargo

Kids can wear their costumes for open gym time with bounce houses, scooters, and sports equipment (including a mini hoop!). No pre-registration is required for this fun, active morning and the cost is $6 per child at the door.

Trunk of Treat Drive-Through

Days: October 28th from 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Location: 1202 Westrac Dr S (Fargo)

NEXUS-PATH Family Healing is hosting] [] their 6th annual Trunk or Treat! This year it will be held drive-through style. No need to get out of your car, we will bring the treats to you!

Spooky Slab

Days: October 28th, 6:00 – 9:30 p.m.

Location: Nature of the North, 814 Center Ave Suite 3, Moorhead

All ages and all skill levels welcome to this friendly climbing competition at Nature of the North! COSTUMES ENCOURAGED! Prizes will be awarded to the top costume. Cornhole and other outdoor games will be set up as well. 

Monster Mash Trunk or Treat

Days: October 28th, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Location: Moorhead Center Mall Parking Ramp, 500 Center Mall Ave, Moorhead

Spend the evening trick-or-treating in Moorhead! Kids crafts and games will be offered at this family-friendly event.

Spooktacular Night

Spooky Storytime in The Art Ghoullery

Days: October 29th, 3:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Location: Rourke Art Museum, 521 Main Ave, Moorhead

Come tour The Rourke Museum and stay for a Spooky Storytime by the Moorhead Public Library in The Art Ghoullery.

Halloween Boo Bash

Days: October 29th, 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.

Location: Fercho YMCA, 400 1st Ave S, Fargo

Put on your Halloween costume and join us in the Fercho Basketball Gym for tons of Halloween fun, including games, crafts, bouncy houses, a photobooth, and more!

Halloween Launch Party

Trunk & Treat Dilworth Police Department

Fargo – Moorhead Halloween Run

Days: October 29th, race start time is 6:30 p.m. & October 30th 8:00 a.m. on

Location: Fargo Civic Center, 207 N 4th St, Fargo

Celebrate Halloween and a love of running at the same time! There are several events to choose from. First, a Friday Night 5k. Wear a costume and watch out for the goblins, ghouls, and monsters who will be haunting the race trail. Then Saturday morning there is a 5k, 10k, or Half Marathon. Registration is required.

Halloween in Horace + GLOW Run

Days: October 29th, 6:00 p.m.

Location: Horace Community Center, 214 Thue Ct, Horace, ND

The City of Horace and Horace Dance Pros are teaming up to bring you a haunted Halloween in Horace! They’ll have a costume party/contest for the kids, carnival games, music for dancing, treats, and more. There will also be a costume 1-mile GLOW RUN with some pretty awesome prizes for families, kids, and couples. 

Trunk or Treat at MSUM

Days: Saturday, October 30th, 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Location: MSUM Comstock Memorial Union Parking Lot, 615 14th St S, Moorhead

Join MSUM Housing & Residential in celebrating Halloween on the MSUM campus! Everyone is invited to come trick or treat in the CMU Parking Lot, out of the trunks of cars. Different campus offices will be decorating the trunks of cars, so come vote for the best trunk 2021!

Bethel Church Trunk-a-Palooza

Days: Saturday, October 30th, 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Join in the trunk-or-treat/tailgating atmosphere in the Bethel Church parking lot. Wear non-scary costumes and enjoy family-friendly games, food, and treats.

Trick or Treat at South Fargo Cash Wise 

Days: October 30th, 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Locations: Moorhead Cash Wise, 3300 Highway 10 East, Moorhead

Walk through our South Fargo Cash Wise parking lots to experience Halloween entertainment for the whole family. Come and be a judge on their costume and car decorating contest.

Trick or Treat Wish Walk

Days: Saturday, October 30th, 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Location: Red River Market/Downtown Fargo

Bring the kiddos Downtown for a day of trick-or-treating! Pick up your candy bag at the Red River Market for a recommended $5 donation, then make your way to participating Downtown businesses to load up on all the sweets. All proceeds benefit Make A Wish ND.

Spooktacular Halloween Party: CANCELLED

Days: Saturday, October 30th, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.

Location: Veteran’s Memorial Arena

Kids of all ages are welcome to this FREE Halloween event! Dress in your favorite costume and enjoy the Haunted Maze, Mad Scientist Lab, and decorate a cookie. 

The Yards Harvest Festival

Days: Saturday, October 30th, 2:00 – 5:00 p.m.

Location: Downtown West Fargo

Join the businesses in downtown West Fargo at this fun event! Different activities for both kids and adults will be hosted in various parking lots around downtown, including:
– Treats like caramel apples and popcorn
– Games like hammerschlagen, pumpkin smashing and stein holding
– Mini petting zoo
– Photo booth
– Arts and crafts, lawn games and prizes

Trunk or Treat at Lifepoint Sanctuary

Days: Saturday, October 30th, 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.

Location: Lifepoint Sanctuary, 1910 5th Ave N, Moorhead

Join Immanuel Lutheran Church for a fun afternoon of trunk-or-treating and an indoor carnival! This event is free and a great way to get out and enjoy the holiday weekend. 

Trunk or Treat at Our Redeemer

Days: Saturday, October 30th, 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.

Location: Our Redeemer Christian Children’s Center, 1000 S 14th St, Moorhead

Join this fun and safe trick or treating experience for families! Decorated trunks will be lined up in the parking, warm beverages will be served, and there will be a fun photo booth. Please consider donating a canned food item for their Food Drive.

Trunk or Treat & Fall Festival

Days: Saturday, October 30th, 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.

ZooBoo 2021 (Chahinkapa Zoo)

This is the 4th Annual Trunk or Treat event! This is a FREE event and open to everyone.

Trunk or Treat – Grace United Methodist

Day: Sunday, October 31st, 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.

Everyone is invited to this spook-tacular event! Help us reach the kids in the Grace UMC neighborhood with a safe and family fun way to celebrate Halloween. Bring your best costumes and your biggest candy buckets to collect candy and be a judge in our contest.

Olivet Trunk or Treat

Day: Sunday, October 31st, 4:00 – 5:30 p.m.

Location: Olivet Lutheran Church, 1330 University Dr S, Fargo

Come dressed in your best Halloween costume for a safe and fun way to trick or treat from trunk to trunk in the Olivet parking lot. There will be a Bounce ‘N’ Slide from Games Galore and special guests, Martin & Katie Luther!

Halloween Organ Spooktacular: CANCELLED

Days: October 31st at 4:00 p.m.

Location: Messiah Lutheran Church, 2010 Elm St N, Fargo, ND

Featuring spooky favorites from Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D Minor and other fun, silly Halloween tunes. And be sure to come in costume!

Trunk or Treat at Fix-It Forward Auto Care

Days: October 31st at 4:30 p.m.

Location: Fix-It Forward Auto Care, 6219 53rd Ave. S, Fargo

Valley Vintage Car Club will be bringing some of their supercool cars and handing out candy and treat bags in our parking lot. Inside the shop will be fun for all ages including games, popcorn, cocoa, cider and cotton candy.

This family friendly event will be a great place to bring the kids and they’ll even have a few treats for the parents too! A suggested donation of a non-perishable item for the Emergency Food Pantry is encouraged, but not required to participate.

Kids Indoor Halloween

Day: Sunday, October 31st from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Location: Hooligan’s Bar & Grill, 509 32nd Ave W (West Fargo)

Join Hooligan’s Bar & Grill on the family side from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for a Halloween bash! Enjoy halloween decorations, spooky themed kids menu, movies, costume contest and candy bags for each child right at your table.

Dias De Los Muertos Educational Celebration

Days: November 2nd, 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Location: Broadway Square, 201 Broadway N, Fargo

Celebrate this traditional Mexican holiday where people gather to remember, connect with, and honor the spirits of loved ones who have died. Featuring educational speakers, a film, activities and more for all ages to enjoy.

Turkey Trot

Days: November 20th, 12:45 – 1:30 p.m.

Location: Family Wellness, 2960 Seter Pkwy, Fargo

Get the family together for this year’s Turkey Trot! Free for members, all ages can join in walking, jogging, running on the Family Wellness indoor track. An optional turkey-themed craft will be available before and after the race to get everyone in the Thanksgiving spirit.
