Immerse yourself in nature at MB Johnson Park! It’s a great spot for a hike, bike ride, or just exploring nature.

MB Johnson Park

Location: 3601 11th St. N, Moorhead, MN

This secluded spot in North Moorhead is a hidden gem that many people don’t venture out to.

What to do:

Ride the mountain bike trails! Located on the Red River, the dirt trail curves through the trees for four miles, providing scenic views and challenging hills.

If mountain biking is not your thing, check out the walking trail, it’s paved and not too strenuous. It is 1.1 miles and easily navigated with a stroller. Check out the M.B. Johnson Park trail map for more details.

Why we love it:

A new addition is an edible forest. Planted in 2021, it features over 100 fruit trees and bushes. While it will take a few years to start producing, the community is able to use it on a first come first serve basis after it is established.

MB Johnson Park has grassy meadows and wooded areas with lots of space to roam. It’s a great place to get lost in nature right in town!

Good to know:

MB Johnson Park is open 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday through Sunday.

It has a boat ramp for access to the Red River (get the kayaks and canoes out for a fun afternoon!)

Picnic tables, restroom, and shelter are located near the playground area.
