New Year’s Eve in Fargo: Family-Friendly Events | 2023

Celebrating New Year’s Eve can look a bit different than when we were younger.

Rather than going out and staying up until the wee hours of the morning, some of us might even struggle to make it to midnight!

But ringing in the new year with the family is fun in its own right.

Here are some family-friendly New Year’s events in Fargo and Moorhead where you can bring the whole family and celebrate the new year with your nearest and dearest! Plus some more ideas for celebrating with kids.

Family New Year’s Eve Party at Skate City

Time: 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Location: Skate City

Celebrate New Year’s Eve early with the kids at Skate City! Enjoy all the fun that happens on New Years Eve with balloon drops, prizes, and more! Admission is $15 and includes rentals and party favors.

New Year’s Eve Winter Party at WF Library

Time: 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Location: West Fargo Library

Join the West Fargo Library celebrate the New Year! They will have treats, make party hats, and noisemakers.

Broadway Square Open Skate

Time: 12:00 – 9:00 p.m.

Location: Broadway Square, Downtown Fargo

Hit up the rink under the Broadway Square Christmas Tree! Lace up your skates and enjoy this festive spot before you ring in the new year.

Fargo Force Game

Time: 5:05 p.m.

Location: SCHEELS Arena, Fargo

Head to SCHEELS Arena to watch the Force play the Cedar Rapids Roughriders!

Holiday Lights at the Fairgrounds/Sprinkles & Twinkles Night

Time: 5:30 – 10:00 p.m.

Location: Red River Valley Fairgrounds, West Fargo

Pile in the car and head to the final evening of the Holiday Lights display at the Fairgrounds in West Fargo. Make sure to grab some cocoa for the ride!

The first 100 visitors to join the festivity will snag a Sandy’s Donut—because who said holiday magic can’t be delicious? But hold on to your Santa hats! Even if you miss the front-of-the-line frenzy, fear not! Every car after the first 100 will be greeted with a BOGO coupon for Sandy’s Donuts to use during the New Year!

New Year’s Eve Party at Skate City

Time: 9:00 p.m. – 12:30 a.m.

Location: Skate City

Roll into the new year with Skate City! They will be hosting a New Year’s Eve Celebration to include a balloon drop and party favors. Admission is $20 and includes rentals and party favors.

New Year’s Eve Glow Skate at The Lights

Time: 9:30 p.m. – 12:30 a.m.

Location: The Lights Ice Rink, West Fargo

Ring in the New Year with Glow Skate at The Lights Ice Rink! Skate rentals will be available for $5, they’ll have music and glow sticks! Countdown to 2024 at this fun family-friendly event!

New Year’s Eve Party at Four Star Ninja Academy

Time: 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Location: Four Star Ninja Academy

The ND Ninja Foundation is hosting a new years eve party! Bring the whole family for games, ninja obstacles, food and door prizes. Proceeds go to the foundation to provide ninja scholarships to kids. Cost is $15 Per Person Or $50 Per Family. Register online fourstarninja.com. 

New Year’s Lock-In at Replay Games

Time: 8:00 p.m. 12/31/23 – 8:00 a.m. 1/1/24

Location: Replay Games

Love gaming? Head to Replay Games to play Jackbox games, competitions, board games, virtual reality, and over 7,000 games to choose from. Each ticket includes pizza, 2 snacks, 1 VR session, and all-night gaming (lights off at 12:00 a.m.). We will have 2 Liter soda and juice available until supplies run out. Players are also able to purchase additional drinks, snacks, and VR. Minors ages 12 and older can be left unsupervised if desired. When you register online or in-store, there will be a link for a form to fill out for minors. Tickets can be purhcased here.

‘Noon’ Year Party @ We Rock The Spectrum 

Time: 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Location: We Rock The Spectrum

Head over to We Rock the Spectrum on December 31st to ring in the ‘noon’ year! Open gym is from 9-2 (normal 2 hour play session and Open Play rates apply) and a BALLOON DROP will take place at NOON to ring in the New Year – kid style!
Join Leika Sensory Creations from 9-12 in the back party room for sensory play stations, playdough tables, and you can even create your own mindfulness new years sensory bottle!
